BEETLE WINGS

I enjoy working with alternative materials, usually because some ordinary object would make for a fun piece of jewelry. These beetle wings are fabulous, from their shimmering color play to the soft tinkling sound they make, as the earrings move. Elytra embroidery on dresses and shawls was quite the fad in the 19th century.
